One of the great things about living in Rancho Santa Fe is its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, specifically Del Mar beach. Del Mar has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, as well as the Del Mar Race Track, high-end boutique shopping and great restaurants. One of my favorite restaurants is The Poseidon I have been going there for years.  When my kids were little we would go there because they could play on the sand while we waited for our food.  Now I just love to go because  of the great food and most importantly the phenomenal location. I can’t remember when the restaurant was founded, maybe the 70′s but in the late 70′s early to the 90′s it looked like a shack on the beach.  Very casual but still had the signature patio on the sand. Approximately 5-7 years ago the restaurant was completely remodeled by a local designer David Robinson.
